Well… has been a three-year gap between the creation of this blog and the first post. There must be a special reason for such an event like this. In a few words, I just started (again) my favourite neverending personal project: a browser-based multiplayer game. The game is named Black-Matter. It’s not an original name for a game, and maybe it’s going to change in the future.

Black-Matter is a browser-based strategy multiplayer game, based on a space opera scenario. Yep… like hundred others you can google for, at first glance. The main objectives a player can expect from a game like this are gather resources, build fleets, dominate territory and wipe out his enemies (= everything besides him and, usually, his allies). The good news are that Black-Matter players will still enjoy these things. The better news are that there will be a lot more, lurking for the clueless.

The system preliminary features are:

Built on PHP5, using the excellent Kohana framework;
Heavy use of Javascript magic, through the fantastic jQuery library;
Some visual elements powered by Scalable Vector Graphics;
Open source, open-minded and fun.

Soon, Black-Matter will have a subversion repository, discussion list and production site. Meanwhile, this blog will discuss aspects of the gameplay, technologies used in the project and trivia about everything else.
